Lagos, Nigeria – Hundreds of youths converged on Ikeja Underbridge, Lagos, to protest against the current economic hardship in Nigeria.

The protest, which began today and is planned to last until August 10, aims to draw attention to the high cost of living, hunger, high levels of unemployment, and limited access to quality education.

Despite a tight security presence, including police, LNSC, and civil defence, the protesters marched from the Underbridge, chanting solidarity songs and holding placards calling for better governance.

The protest is part of a nationwide movement to express dissatisfaction with the government’s handling of the economy.

Although there were few vehicles on the roads, the protesters’ determination to make their voices heard was evident.
