Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has challenged the Central Bank of Nigeria to increase access to funding for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses.
Governor Obaseki made the appeal at the inauguration of the 7th Edo Job Centre in Esan North East local government area of the state.
The global economic crisis and other recent events have brought the high level of unemployment to the front burner of national discourse. The state and federal governments are confronted with the challenge of addressing the unique nature of the challenge as it affects specific areas and groupings in the society.
With the launch of this job center in Uromi community, the Government in Edo hopes to make significant progress in reducing the statistics of out-of-job persons in the state.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the state government’s initiative to tackle unemployment through creativity and innovations.
