COVID-19 Lockdown: Trace, VIO, So Safe Corps form joint patrol operations to restrict movements in Ogun

Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, Vehicle Inspection Service, VIS, Ogun State Command and So Safe Corps are collaborating in a STRATEGIC ENFORCEMENT PLAN, through joint patrol operations at all borderlines with neighbouring states and Republic of Benin to ensure that the directive (s) of the Federal Government, ditto, the State Government on measures to combat the COVID 19 Pandemic, especially as it relates to human and vehicular movement is enforced.

In a release signed by Cdr Michael Ajayi, Director, Traffic Planning Research and Statistics, TRACE Corps, the TRACE Corps Commander/CE, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, Chief Vehicle Inspection Service Officer, Ogun State, Cdr. Adegboyega Ademehin and Cdr. Soji Ganzalo, So Safe Corps Commandant, in a Strategic Session, held in Abeokuta on Monday, 30th March, 2020, agreed on the need for the three (3) services to cooperate and work together to guarantee that instructions regulating the stay at home order is strictly adhered to.

The twelve (12) routes along the Ogun Traffic Corridor which the Strategic Enforcement Plan covers include, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; Abeokuta-Ifo-Sango/Ota Expressway; Interchange-Sagamu-Ijebu/Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway; Abeokuta-Odeda-Ibadan Highway; Sango/Ota-Atan-Owode-Idiroko Highway and Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagary Highway.

Other routes on the Strategic Enforcement Plan are Papalanto-Ilaro-Owode-Idiroko Highway; Ijebu/Ode-Itoikin-Agbowa-Ikorodu Highway; Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu Highway; Abeokuta-Kobape-Siun-Interchange Expressway; Ijebu/Ife-Ilese-Ijebu/Ode-Oru-Ibadan Highway and Rounder/Abeokuta-Olorunda-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara Border.

The release further stated that all Divisional Commander’s of TRACE Corps, VIS and So Safe Corps should begin full scale enforcement of the Strategic Plan on the twelve (12) aforementioned major routes along the Ogun Traffic Corridor, as well as other borderlines as stipulated, on Friday, 3rd April, 2020, by 2300hrs (11.00pm).

In addition, TRACE Corps, VIS and So Safe Corps would relate with other Security Services for synergy in this regard.
