COVID-19: Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation Fetes Security Operatives in Ogun State

In a bid to cushion the effects of lockdown over the outbreak of Corona virus pandemic in Nigeria. Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation today provided food materials to security operatives on duty in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.

The gesture which was done to complement the efforts of governments to reduce the effect of the lockdown on people most especially security operatives saddled with the responsibility of providing essential services to ensure effective compliance with government restrictions of human and vehicular movements across the Ogun State.

The food distribution which includes; packed jollof rice, meat and soft drink were provided as launch to Police officers, So – Safe Corps, Civil Defense, Vigilante Group and other security outfits on duty along Bode Olude, Miliki Juction, Elega Housing Estate, Akomoje, Arakanga, Mawuko, Ajegunle and Ile pupa in Abeokuta.

In his words, the President of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji (Asiwaju) Dapo Wahab said that the edible items were very important as many of the officers find it difficult to get cooked food from road side vendors as a result of the total lockdown the state is currently experiencing and that the gesture is part of measures to cushion the effects of COVID-19 lockdown and also to encourage the officers to do more in securing the lives and property of the people most especially during the lockdown.

Asiwaju Wahab said, ” The first beneficiaries of Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation are all security operatives across Ifedara – Opeji Area CDC and beyond which includes; Bode Olude, Miliki Juction, Elega Housing Estate, Akomoje/ Arakanga, Mawuko /Ajegunle, Ile pupa and a host of others.”

“We are providing foods and drinks for our gallant officers on duty such as Police Officers, So – Safe Corps, Civil Defense, Vigilantes and other security outfits”

“We realised that due to the effects of the lockdown as street vendors are also affected, we felt it will be good if we provide the officers launch and to also encourage them to put more efforts in securing our lives and property and ensuring full compliance of government stay-at-home directives.”

“Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation will not renege in making life easier for residents during this Corona virus lockdown and after the pandemic, he added.

The Security Operatives however expressed their profound gratitude and appreciation towards the good gestures received from Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation and they promised to continue in the effective discharge of their constitutional duties.
