After Ten Months in Office: Barade, Let’s Give Danfodites Open Financial Reports

Ibrahim Yasir, Sokoto

Ten (10) months in office isn’t child’s play, that’s an equivalent of three hundred and eight (308) days in office.

One won’t be wrong saying Danfodites deserves open financial reports of the union funds, if not for anything, for the fact that the numbered days of the SU President is becoming clearer by the day.

One shouldn’t enjoy the privilege of royalty and defecate on oneself– Privilege positions shouldn’t be abused. Danfodites elect you and expect feedback from you. This can be done through Congress meeting, press briefing etc.

There’s Fire on The Mountain as Impeachment rocks executives arm

An adage says, ‘Only a dancer who dances moderately dances for long; an immoderate dancer counts shame’. Barade led administration is running to termination period and danfodites believes there are many projects executed (infeasible) unapproved by the ‘supporting-the-motion’ students representatives Assembly (SRA).

“To face war and not flee is the honour of a man, one shouldn’t abdicate one’s responsibilities” adage say

The stage drama at the plenary on Saturday night at the acclaimed chamber (A20 class) which later postponed to take place in another venue on Monday 9th, March 2020, and finally cancelled due to acclaimed insecurity shows how irresponsible our SRAs are– most of them I would tagged ‘honourable I support the motion’. And the president in a dramatic drama drove in celebration after the first adjournment knowing fully well he escaped defense of financial report that may eventually results to impeachment, I guess.

Now that we have succeeded in cancelling the sitting amidst intimidation, should danfodites pretend to be unaware of the happenings just like the number one citizens in Nigeria would say, after the dethronement of a popular Emir in Kano (Mo ya look away). I anticipate when Barade led administration would give open financial reports for transparency.

I could not remember maybe I congratulated his excellency back then on assumption into the office of the Students union president of the most peaceful University Friday 3rd, May 2019– maybe not its never too late to say congratulations Mr President for defeating the giant opponent from the faculty of no food no life as they would be proud to say.

It’s never easy using razor blade to cut down Iroko tree in the forest, it calls for celebration, still not too late– let’s pump champagne. Perhaps you know that can only feel my crying intestines. The Messiah danfodites have long been waiting for is here and things have really changed in the most peaceful University, even over shadow Mubarak Maibasira performance, you deserve some accolades, but let danfodites decides on what account the accolades coming in.
