Renowned Ogun State broadcaster, Olalekan Alex Shoyinka, popularly known as Ayinla Egba, has announced his departure from Splash 106.7 FM after a successful stint as a founding staff member.
In an exclusive interview with newsmen, Ayinla Egba shared his remarkable journey, revealing the highs and lows, triumphs, and challenges that have defined his career.
“It’s the passion I have for broadcasting that drives me,” Ayinla Egba said, citing his inspirations from veteran broadcasters like Ayinde Soaga, Cyril Stober, and the late Akinloye Oyebanji.
Ayinla Egba expressed gratitude to his colleagues and management at Splash FM, acknowledging their support and camaraderie. “I have many good memories, especially with the nice personalities I had as colleagues. We are one family, and I will always appreciate most of them for having my back most times.”
Regarding his departure, Ayinla Egba revealed that he left to seek new challenges and focus on personal businesses. “It’s out of my own volition that I left Splash 106.7 FM to seek new challenges and manage my personal businesses, which needed my utmost attention at this critical moment in our nation.”
However, he assured fans that he is not quitting broadcasting and announced his move to Fresh FM Nigeria, where he will continue to share his talents. “I’m not quitting broadcasting, and I use this medium to announce officially that I will be moving to another big media organization, Fresh FM Nigeria.”
Ayinla Egba expressed appreciation for the opportunity to join Fresh FM and thanked the CEO, Dr. Yinka Ayefele, for his support and belief in him. “He’s benevolent, and I will do my best not to let him down.”
