ACCEPT YOUR POSTING IN GOOD FAITH, MINISTER URGES CORPS MEMBERS

Corps Members deployed to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, have been urged to accept their postings to their respective place of primary assignments in good faith and settle down to contribute their quota to national development.

The FCT Minister of State, Dr Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu stated this while declaring the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream Two Orientation Course closed at NYSC FCT Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja.

She advised the Corps Members to storm the nooks and crannies of the FCT where their services are needed and positive impact.

Aliyu in his address also admonished them to study and adhere to the tradition, norms and cultural values of people of the Federal Capital Territory.

‘For those of you that are single, if you are charmed by our young men and women, do the needful and you will be glad you did.

The people of the FCT are warm, loving and hospitable’, the Minister said.

Speaking further, Dr Aliyu reiterated the need for the Corps Members to engage in constructive and creative endeavours in the course of the service year that would culminate into self employment.

She appealed to them to key into the Federal Government’s crusade against poverty reduction through wealth creation.

‘For this reason, you have been equipped with the pre-requisite knowledge through Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship

Development training that would enable you become not only self- employed but also employers of labour’, Aliyu stated.

NYSC FCT Coordinator, Hajiya Walida Siddique Isa in her address said the Corps Members have been rebranded towards their mandate as useful tools and forces for the socio-economic development of the country.

She commended its stakeholders especially the six Area Council Chairmen within the FCT and the Scheme’s collaborating agencies for their support.

‘Success is not a teaparty but hardwork and discipline. I charge you to be exemplary wherever you find yourself and ensure you maintain the NYSC dress code at all times’.

‘Mentor FCT youths and educate them in the consequences of criminality. Cultivate in them the spirit of fairness, oneness and brotherhood’, the Coordinator said.
