…harps on sustainable development

In an attempt to ensure there is no vacuum in administration among the traditional institutions, a new monarch has been crowned in Ijanna, Yewa South Local Government Area of the State.

The Monarch, Oba Tajudeen Adesina-Ogunbiyi is the 11th Onisare of Ijanna-Yewa Kingdom.

Speaking during the official Installation and Presentation of Staff of the Office at Ijanna, the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun said, the installation was an indication of a new dawn that would herald sustainable development in the area.

The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat tasked the Monarch to engender innovations that would enhance the existing conducive environment in the community.

Abiodun added that Oba Adesina-Ogunbiyi should use his position to complement the State government’s effort by attracting more investors to the town and its environs, to further raise the status of the State as the industrial hub of the nation.

‘’I urge the new Monarch to be accessible, receptive, and responsive to the yearnings of his subjects as occasion demands. As a first-class Oba, you should carry everyone in Ijanna along in the affairs of the community without any form of discrimination’’, the Governor said.

He commended the people of Ijanna for their overwhelming support for the emergence of the new Monarch, since the demise of Oba Jubril Ojuko, the immediate past Onisare of Ijanna, noting that their cooperation as sons and daughters of the town would take it to an enviable height.

The Governor said, ‘’Permit me to inform the good people of Ijanna community that the selection process that climaxed the appointment of Oba Tajudeen Adesina-Ogunbiyi as the new Onisare of Ijanna followed due process, which was in line with the registered declaration of the Onisare of Ijanna Chieftaincy, the customs and traditions of Ijanna, and the Obas and Chiefs’ Law of Ogun State, 2021’’.

On his part, the Executive Chairman, Yewa South Local Government, Hon. Lateef Salami, admonished the new Monarch to embrace honesty, truth, humility, and dignity, as well as be a good role model, praying that his reign would witness unrivalled achievements.

In his remark, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, enjoined the Ijanna indigenes to give necessary support to the new monarch, for the community to witness a progressive development.

Giving his acceptance speech, Oba Adesina-Ogunbiyi appreciated the State Governor for his selection approval, promising to devote his life to leading Ijanna-Yewa back to glory and greatness, as he would embark on development drives to make the kingdom better.

He appealed to the State government to ensure the construction of roads and infrastructures to drive necessary development.
