Kaduna: Army neutralizes seven terrorists, recovers arms, ammunition

The Nigeria Army on Sunday, said troops of 1 Division Nigerian Army on Operation Forest Sanity conducted clearance operation around Maidaro, Kagi Hill, Kusharki and Anguwan Madaki in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, neutralized seven terrorists, recovered arms and ammunitions in Kaduna

In a statement on Sunday by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director Army Public Relations, the troops came in contact with the terrorists and in a fierce battle that followed, neutralized four bandits.

According to him, other bandits fled in disarray, just as troops recovered two AK 47-rifles with two rounds of 7.62mm special, one automatic pump action gun with 3 cartridges, 6 dane guns, 3 locally fabricated pistols with one 9mm round and 4 motorcycles.

It said in another operation, the army, troops along Sabon Birnin-Zartake, Ungwan Lima Riyawa and Tungan Madaki general area, intercepted fleeing bandits from Kagi Hill and neutralized another three terrorists.

The statement expressed the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), appreciation and commendation to troops for their gallantry and urged them not to relent until terrorism and other criminalities are brought to an end in the region
