The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has officially suspended former Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, citing alleged anti-party activities as the reason for this decisive action.

The suspension comes amid growing tensions within the party, as Aregbesola, a former governor of the state, is accused of fostering divisions by establishing a splinter faction.

In a resolution submitted to the APC National Secretariat and addressed to National Chairman Dr. Umar Ganduje, the Osun APC expressed concerns that Aregbesola’s actions are undermining the party’s cohesion and unity during a critical period in Osun politics.

Party leaders emphasized that his influence on certain groups has led to significant discord among members.

The APC in Osun claims that Aregbesola’s behavior has fueled internal divisions, prompting the state chapter to take this strong stance against perceived disloyalty.

This suspension is seen as a strategic move to realign the party’s leadership ahead of upcoming elections.

Further responses from Aregbesola’s camp are awaited as the situation continues to develop.
