Ogun State House of Assembly has implored the State government and the necessary security agencies to ensure the swift enforcement of the State Anti-kidnapping and Land Grabbing Law, 2016 to enhance peace and tranquility in the state.

The Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo gave the advice while receiving the residents of Magboro and Onikogbo communities in Obafemi-Owode and Ado Odo/Ota Local Government areas respectively, who came to protest the alleged invasion of their communities by suspected land grabbers  under the guise of executing court judgment.

Tropic Reporters gathered that Oluomo who commended the peaceful nature of the resident, assured that their case will be passed to the appropriate quarters for immediate action.

He noted that there was need to follow to the letter, the implementation of the anti-land grabbing law so as to protect the people from the untoward acts of land grabbers in the state, saying even in the course of implementation of court judgment there were laid down rules, rather than invasion of privacy.

Earlier in his presentation, the Zonal Community Development Council in Obafemi-Owode Local Government, Mr.  Jimi Olusanya stated that the land grabbers invaded their community last Monday purportedly executing a court judgement over the land which had been purchased, with buildings erected and had been occupied in the last 15 years.
