Abeokuta, Ogun State – Omoyele Sowore, a renowned Nigerian activist and politician, has announced plans to lead a nationwide protest tagged “Fearless October” on October 1, to demand an end to bad governance, economic hardship, and other challenges facing Nigeria.
Sowore made this known while addressing journalists shortly after participating in the Lotus Bank Abeokuta 10Km Race held today.
“We will be taking to the streets on October 1 to demand a better Nigeria. The ‘Fearless October’ protests will be a watershed moment in our struggle for good governance, economic stability, and accountability,” Sowore said.
He emphasized that the protests are necessary to address the widespread suffering and discontent among Nigerians, citing rising poverty, insecurity, and decayed infrastructure.
“Nigerians have suffered enough. It’s time to take a stand and demand change. We will not be silenced or intimidated. We will be fearless in our pursuit of a better future,” Sowore declared.
Sowore urged Nigerians to join the protests, stressing that it’s a collective responsibility to demand better governance and hold leaders accountable.
