Chidimma Adetshina, the 23-year-old law student who was forced to withdraw from the South African beauty pageant due to xenophobic backlash, has emerged as the winner of the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant.
Adetshina, who represented Taraba State, was announced as the winner by Guy Murray-Bruce, President of Silverbird Group, at the grand finale held at Ekp Hotels & Suites, Lagos, on Saturday night.
The keenly contested competition had a total of 25 participants, and Adetshina’s victory comes after her controversial withdrawal from Miss South Africa 2024.
As the winner, Adetshina will receive N10 million in cash, along with other prizes, and will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this November.
