The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has partnered with the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) to launch a revolutionary Smart Brooding System (SBS) program.

This innovative initiative aims to enhance poultry farming practices by leveraging advanced solar-powered technology.

As part of the program, 50 FUNAAB students received training on raising day-old broiler chicks using the SBS, which utilizes solar power to generate heat and regulate temperature.

The students can monitor and control the system remotely via a mobile app, ensuring optimal conditions for the chicks’ growth.

The Smart Brooding System marks a significant shift from traditional methods, offering a more efficient and sustainable approach to poultry farming.

The program’s success is attributed to the support of NITDA, under the Federal Ministry of Communication, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Abuja.

The launch ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including Prof. Sunday Adigbo, Director of COBFAS, and Mrs. Olubukola Fasae, Chief Agricultural Officer of COBFAS.

The students expressed gratitude to the University Administration for this valuable opportunity, which enhances their knowledge and skills in poultry management.
