Abeokuta, Ogun State – Residents of Saje-Elega in Abeokuta, Ogun State are calling on Governor Dapo Abiodun to prioritize the repair of the road, which has been in a state of disrepair for years.

The road, which connects several communities and is a major artery for commuters, has been plagued by potholes and erosion, making it difficult for vehicles to pass through.

Residents and business owners in the area have expressed frustration and concern over the deplorable state of the road, which they say is affecting their daily lives and livelihoods.

“We urge Governor Abiodun to treat the repair of Saje-Elega Road as a matter of urgency”.

“The road is in a terrible state and it’s affecting our businesses and our daily lives. We need the government to come to our aid as soon as possible”, said Mrs. Funke Adeolu, a resident of the area.

“I spend more time and money navigating through this road every day. It’s a nightmare!” – Tope, commercial car driver.

“I have to pay extra for tricycles to take me through the road because it’s too difficult for my car. It’s a burden!” – Bolanle, commuter.

“The potholes are so deep, I’m scared of damaging my motorcycle. Please, government, help us!” – Tunde, motorcycle rider.

“I have to close my shop early because customers can’t access the road. It’s affecting my business!” – Segun, business owner.

“I’ve fallen several times on this road while riding my bike. It’s a death trap!” – Ade, commercial motorcyclist.

“The road is so bad, I have to take a longer route, which wastes my time and fuel. It’s frustrating!” – Yinka, commuter.

The call comes as the rainy season is at hand, and residents fear that the road may become even more impassable if not repaired urgently.

Governor Abiodun has been urged to take immediate action to address the issue and restore the road to a good condition.
