Lagos state government has warned motorists in the state against use of unfit vehicles on the roads across the state.
This warning was issued by the special assistant to the governor on transportation, Hon. Giwa while reacting to a serious accident that involved a mini truck loaded with pure water and two Mazda cars.
It was discovered that the mini pure water truck developed a break failure and ram into the vehicles at sight.
Hon Giwa said despite government’s ongoing campaign to educate motorists about speed limits and the importance of vehicle maintenance, particularly the braking system, drivers continue to flout the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
He said henceforth, government will not take it lightly with anyone that violates the laid down rules and regulations for road use in Lagos state.
He urged all drivers, including truck operators and private car owners, to avoid speeding and to check their vehicles before driving within and outside the state.
