The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, is set to host members of the House of Representatives and Senators from Ogun State in a dialogue with journalists.

The event, themed “Dialogue with Ogun Journalists,” will hold between June 24th and 29th, 2024, at the Iwe-Iroyin Press Center, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.

According to a letter signed by the Council Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the event aims to hold the lawmakers accountable for their stewardship and impact in the last one year.

The dialogue will provide a platform for the nine House of Representative members and three Senators from Ogun State to engage with over 500 journalists and share their achievements and contributions to the state’s development.

The NUJ Ogun State Council congratulates the lawmakers on their successful completion of one year in office, acknowledging their contributions to the National Assembly and the positive impact on their constituents through various projects and meaningful development.

This dialogue aligns with the core values of the journalism profession, ensuring accountability, transparency, and promoting full-fledged democracy.

The event promises to be a robust and engaging platform for constructive criticism, feedback, and a comprehensive assessment of the lawmakers’ performance, ultimately fostering a more informed and engaged citizenry.
