The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not yet accepted Finidi George’s resignation as head coach of the Super Eagles due to a technicality.

George submitted his resignation letter on June 14, 2024, but it was unsigned, prompting the NFF to request a signed version before they can consider his departure.

George’s tenure as Super Eagles coach was marked by two consecutive losses in 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin.

His refusal to work under a foreign coach, which he saw as a lack of confidence in his abilities, led to his resignation.

The delay in accepting George’s resignation has created uncertainty around the Super Eagles’ coaching situation, leaving fans and players alike wondering about the team’s future direction.
