A devastating cult clash at Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, has resulted in the tragic loss of two students’ lives.

The victims were reportedly shot dead on Friday by unknown gunmen, just 48 hours after a misunderstanding led to a retaliatory attack.

The chain of events began when a student, Eddy, was brutally beaten and left for dead by a group of individuals who accused him of using a “fake bank alert” to purchase items.

Unfortunately, news of Eddy’s ordeal was misconstrued as a rival cult attack, leading to a deadly retaliation by another cult group.

On Friday, a 400-level student from the Faculty of Agriculture and a student union official were killed in separate incidents at Poultry Road extension in Ekpoma.

The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the killings and announced that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to the police spokesman, Chidi Nwabuzor, “The command is aware of the incident, and investigation is ongoing.

Some suspects have been arrested in connection with the matter.” The university community is in shock and mourning the loss of two young lives cut short by senseless violence.
