The director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ogun State, Christopher Kolawole Obadina, has cautioned the public against mistreating the national currency, the Naira, emphasizing its significance as a symbol of the nation.

In an interview with OGTV during his retirement farewell, Obadina stressed the legal repercussions of spraying Naira notes at social events and outlined various forms of abuse, including mutilation, writing on, tearing, or repurposing the currency for non-designated use.

He advocated for dignified handling of the Naira, suggesting the use of cash wallets or paper envelopes. Highlighting the NOA’s efforts to raise awareness, Obadina reiterated the agency’s commitment to continuous sensitization through various media platforms.

Obadina also underscored the importance of embracing national values such as integrity, discipline, and patriotism to foster unity and contribute to the country’s progress.

He emphasized the role of love for the nation in driving both financial remittances from Nigerians abroad and their eventual return to contribute to its development.
