NYSC OSUN EQUIPS CORPS MEMBERS WITH EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS

The 2018 Batch C stream I corps members of the National Youth Service Corps, Osun State have been trained on job prospecting, modern method of writing job applications and comportment during interviews.

As part of the winding up and passing out activities, which is the forth cardinal programme and the last lap of the service year for the corps members, the Job Advisory and Counselling programme was organized across the four Zones of the State, namely; Osogbo, Ikirun, Ife and Ilesa for effectiveness.

The programme held on Tuesday, 24th September, 2019 with skilled facilitators taking corps members through employability skills.

Speaking to the Batch members in Osogbo zone, Mr Adeleke Bamidele of Alpha Consulting called on the corps members to add value to their first certificate by getting as many certification as possible, “as the internet has really made this feat a possibility” he added. He further took them through skills that can enhance their writing and communication.

In the same vein, the CEO of MISLAND Consulting, Mr Ikediaashi Josh lectured corps members in Ife zone on the nitty-gritty of CV writing and job interview pitfalls that must be avoided at all cost.

He stressed on the need for corps members to be fully prepared for the opportunities in the labour market.

Correspondingly, Mr Adebayo Oreoluwa, a Principal Consultant with Intl College of Safety and Management Professional (ICSMP) and Mr Emmanuel Olanrewaju of LEAM Consulting, the facilitators for Ikirun and Ilesa zone respectively, called on the Batch to embrace the opportunity presented by SAED through the Job Advisory and Counselling programme to sharpen and enhance their employability and relevance in the larger society.
