Award-Winning Farmer Establishes Multi-Million Naira Headquarters in Ogun, Urges Nigerian Youth to Embrace Agriculture

Mr. Ajibola Johnson Akindele, the Chief Executive Officer of Young Agro Services Limited, has inaugurated a multi-million naira headquarters in Owode Egba, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State.

Akindele, a distinguished farmer, has made a significant mark in the agricultural sector.

He called on Nigerian youths to consider farming as a viable career option, stressing that many youths prioritize white-collar jobs despite the potential in agriculture.

In addition to the new office, Akindele unveiled ten tractors aimed at enhancing farming operations.

During the inauguration, attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Akindele reiterated his commitment to farming and encouraged youths to follow suit.

He expressed gratitude for the support received from the Ministry of Agriculture at both state and national levels.

Akindele also disclosed that he had employed over thirty workers on a monthly salary basis, emphasizing the employment opportunities available in agriculture.

“My message to the Nigerian youths is that they should shun white colar jobs and go into farming because it pays better than white Colar jobs, Government can not provide jobs for all of us and that is why we need to create jobs for ourselves, when you farm you will  harvest and from there you make money. Farming is lucrative let us stop running after colar jobs, there is money in agriculture.

” I want appreciate the ministry of Agriculture in  Ogun State and at the  National level for their support so far and for giving us capacity building to be able to be useful in this area.

“I have been able to employ thirty one workers, i have manager, four drivers, four truck drivers, three supervisors,  nine operators and other casual workers”

Honorable Ogunsola, the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, commended Akindele for his initiative, stating that it would empower more youths in the area.

Representatives from various government bodies, including the Ministry of Agriculture in Ogun State, also emphasized the importance of agriculture in tackling unemployment.

They praised Akindele for his contribution to the agricultural sector and urged Nigerian youths to embrace agriculture as a means of creating wealth.

He said “We are yet to celebrate one of the young men that is doing well in the agricultural sector and we are glad to be here from the Ministry of Agriculture to show our support for  him and what has been able to accomplished over the time. He has already shown to us that he is the future for our young youths so the youths should also be ready and see that agriculture pays, young people should able to embrace agriculture and when they do it dutifully, there is going to be a lot of successes. He concluded.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including government officials and representatives from agricultural organizations including Hon. Dr Otegbeye, the Special Adviser to the Governor on works, Engr. Akeem Adeshina,  Ambassador Oluseye Ogunwale Adefoolu, Oba Abisodun, Mr Sodehinde Abayomi, CEO and Managing Director of Shosam Properties, Chief Ajagbe Olatunbosun Jimoh, Balogun Peju, Ola idi Aba , Abeokuta, Mr Akiniyi, representatative of OGADEP, Dr. Mrs Oluseyi O. Olugbire, Project Manager, Agric. Sector. OGSTEP, Mr. Oluwadayopo S. Ibidunni. Agribusiness Specialist, Agric. Sector. OGSTEP, Dr. Mrs Oluseyi O. Olugbire. Project Manager, Agric. Sector. Mr. Oluwadayopo S. Ibidunni,Agribusiness Specialist, Agric. Sector. OGSTEP.

Others include; Mrs Temitope Ajisafe – Acting State Project Coordinator, Value Chain Development Programme,Mrs Abiola Sobukola – Rural Institution Gender Youths Mainstreaming Officer, among others.
