Dismissed Soldier Arrested for Robbery in Abuja

In a recent development, the Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, has apprehended a dismissed soldier and another individual for their involvement in an alleged armed robbery incident in the Gwarimpa area of Abuja.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, revealed this during a media briefing held in Abuja, stating that the arrest took place on March 17 after a distress call was made to the Mabushi Division by Blessing Mafulul Damia and Haliru Zakari.

According to Igweh, the victims reported being trailed by men in an unregistered Toyota Hilux from H-Medix, Gwarimpa, to Gishiri village.

Subsequently, they were robbed of their belongings, with an attempted kidnapping also reported.

He further explained, “Upon receipt of the information, police operatives of the division swung into action, trailed the vehicle, and arrested two suspects, including the dismissed soldier.”

Items recovered from the suspects include a black-colored Toyota Hilux with Reg No. NBB 03 AH, a jackknife, and various military accoutrements.
