The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo has commended Penpushing Media for new innovation introduced to journalism practice, with focus on authentic news dissemination across the globe.
The first class traditional ruler in Ogun State gave the commendation on Tuesday 18th June, 2019 when the Board of Editorial Team/Anniversary Planning Committee of Penpushing Media paid him a courtesy call in his palace located in Ake, Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.
The Royal father opined that the three years of Penpushing into the media world has signified hopes for continued dissemination of credible, authentic and accurate news. He charged the board and management of the Penpushing not to derail from it known authenticity in news gathering and dissemination.
‘No doubt, Penpushing in the last three years of its existence has been doing well, in the area of news gathering and dissemination, and this is good hopes that, authentic news is not going into oblivion as being envisage in many quarters’, the monarch said.
‘I will therefore encourage the team to maintain its quality standard, and I am optimistic that, you are going places. The regular annual lecture is also a welcome development for the society, coupled with your social responsibility, in bringing smiles to faces of even the less privileged through your reportage’, he stated
It was further gathered that the monarch said he is also satisfied with number of innovations introduced by the Penpushing, among which include; platform for people across the globe to air their views, and pave way for peoples contributions, which most times formed basis for developmental growth of nations across the world.
The Founder of Penpushing, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji earlier in his speech, narrated the journey of Penpushing from inception, which started as a whassap group with 256 membership across the globe, and grew to have its arm of online publications.
He told the monarch that, since inception, annual lecture had been introduced, recalling that, the maiden edition held three years ago had Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe(former Vice-Chancellor, University of Lagos, as the Guest lecturer, while second edition had, Ronald Kayanja, Country Director, United Nations Information Centre(UNIC),as the guest lecturer.
The founder added that the third edition also scheduled for July 19, will have Prof Oluyemi Obilade(former Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University of Education, as guest lecturer, who will speak on the theme, ’The Nigeria State Political Evolution,and Multiparty Democracy: Education to the Rescue’, while wife of former President, Chief(Mrs) Bola Obasanjo is the Chairman for the occasion.
