Team Ogun Departs For 21st National Sports Festival in Delta

Team Ogun Contingents have departed for the 21st National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta which commenced on Wednesday.

The state contingents are about 358 athletes.

Many of the athletes whose events start tomorrow were also among those that made the trip to Asaba, Detla state, while others are to join the team tomorrow to have enough time to relax before the commencement of their events.

The team are expected to arrive today since all modalities had been perfected by the ministry of Sports led by Commissioner Dare Kehinde.

Addressing the athletes before their departure, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Dare Kehinde charged the athletes to be good ambassadors of the state even as he thanked the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for moral and financial supports.

“I want to wish the contingent well in their trip to Delta state and urge them to remain focused to win all the medals available and enjoy their stay.

“I won’t forget to commend the sport council Director, Mrs Folakemi Rotimi and her team for all their support in making sure the athletics achieved greater heights” he concluded
