… rolls out grassroot voters education campaign.
Ahead of 2023 general elections, a non-partisan organization, Democratic Forum on Saturday disclosed moves to mobilize women and youth on the need to elect credible political leaders at all levels.
The Co-convener of the group, Omo’ba Sodrudeen Ayodeji made this known in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital while engaging the women leaders of the group at one of his meetings on the need for grassroot voters education campaign and advocacy.
He noted that the advocacy campaign will help to sensitize the general public to stand their ground in making sure that the right people are elected to occupy public offices.
He said, “I am using this opportunity to call on all our women leaders of the need to sensitize the general public on the need to vote and vote for the right candidate ahead of 2023 general elections”.
“Democratic Forum as a nonpartisan organization will be going out for grassroot voters education campaign on the need for people to get their voters card and to also sensitize them to vote right”.
“Our aim is to change the perspective of people on the need to register, become active voters, and vote for the right candidate during the elections”, he added.
He also expressed optimism that, “If young people and women rise up and actually demand accountability, good governance, and ensure that the people that are coming out and we will be voting for eventually in 2023 are the right people.
He however reinstated that the group will scale up its desire to empower women and youth as part of its core mandate for a better society.
