… Assures Residents Of Maximum Security Ahead Of 2023 General Elections
As part of efforts to curb illegality, kidnapping, banditry, ritual and insecurity in Ogun, no fewer than 1,300 personnel have been trained to enhance the security system in Ogun state by So Safe Corps.
In his opening remarks on the final day of the training, the commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, noted that the training was to equip and arm personnel with the needed knowledge and information required to meet the new standards of security system.
The training featured physical training exercises (martial arts) during the parade. Also included are Peacekeeping and Intervention, Crime and Society, Unconventional and Guerrilla Warfare Security Operations, Criminal Investigation and Intelligence, Illicit Drug Crime, and Crime Prevention.
“Our expectations after this training were to ensure that security personnel, particularly So-Safe corps, are well equipped and to prepare them ahead of the forthcoming election.”
“We have been proactive and made our officers combat ready, and they can be able to face any challenges ahead of us.”
Dr. Ganzallo, who is also the scribe of service commanders in Ogun, assured synergy between all grassroots security agencies to ensure the safety of lives and property during and after the election.
Also speaking, the Security Assistant to the Governor on Security Matters, Mr. Biyi Odubote, stated that Ogun state has been rated as the most peaceful state in the world and the contribution of being so safe cannot be underestimated.
He implored all the officers to continue the good work, assiduously urging them to apply all the training acquired to their day-to-day activities as the security actors in the state.
Present at the ceremony were Hon Afolabi Afuape, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs who was represented by Segun Ibirinde, Director Local Government Affairs,Special assistant to ogun state Government on Security Matters, Mr. Biyi Odubote, Mr. Babatunde Kazeem retired DSS officer, Mr. Saliu Olorode, Mr Harry representing the DSS Director, PCRC chairman, High Chief (Dr) Samson kunle Popoola, the commander VGN Are Akinrogun of Ikenne Shola Sodiyan.
