The Vice Chancellor of Crescent University, Abeokuta, Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila has received twenty orphans on Rosula Foundation scholarship to the institution for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The scholarship awards are part of the philanthropic activities of the Founder, Rosula Foundation, Princess Rosemary Mku-Atu to support the less privileged in the society.

The twenty orphans awarded full scholarship are from Ijamido Children’s Home. According to its website,
“the orphanage was founded on the 17th December, 1958 by late American nurse, Mrs Irene Virginia Willoughby to cater for orphaned, destitute and abandoned children… who would have, otherwise, perished uncared for”.

Welcoming the Rosula scholars in his office, Prof. Gbajabiamila charged them on discipline and dedication to their studies, stressing that they should abide by the rules and regulations of the university at all times.

He informed that any scholarship student with a cumulative grade point average lower than 3.50 after the first session would forfeit their scholarship.

Admonishing scholars to steer clear of any form of misdemeanors on campus, Gbajabiamila explained that over the last sixteen years of Crescent University existence, female products have made more first class grades than male students, thereby charging male students to brace up for the challenge.

The VC emphasized that the success of females graduates of the university was not a surprise because they usually hit the ground running at resumption.

Meanwhile, the sponsor, Rosula Foundation, has celebrated the twenty orphans who clinched its scholarship tagged ” MY Dream Scholarship Awards” since their resumption for their academic activities at Crescent University.

The Foundation took to its Facebook handle saying ” it was a moment of joy for the 20 orphans who received MY Dream Scholarship Awards to study various degrees at the prestigious Crescent University, Abeokuta today when they resumed the 2021/2022 academic activities”, congratulations the deserving students.
