The Chairman of Ifedara-Opeji Area CDC in Abeokuta, Asiwaju Dapo Wahab has felicitated with Muslim faithfuls in the state and beyond on the commemoration of 2020 Sallah Celebration.
He charged them to continue to demonstrate love, charity, solidarity and pray for the peaceful coexisnce of all beyond Eid-el-kabir.
He urged Muslims to used the celebration to pray for peace and a healthy environment even as the world is presently battling with the novel Covid-19 pandemic.
He equally congratulated his community residents for the grace and opportunity to witness Eid-el-kabir festival.
Asiwaju Wahab assured them of his continuous dedication to their welfare.
He said, “As we are celebrating this year’s Sallah in an unusual circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic which has not only slowed global economic development, but has also changed ways of life and living.”
“My people, to be alive is a great grace. We may not be able to celebrate in an elaborate way, but the gift of life is worth having at the critical moment.”
“As a people, we have every reason to be thankful to Allah (Swt) for the gift of life and good health to witness this day.”
“I urge you all to celebrate in moderation while we must take not of all laid down guidelines to reduce the community spread of Covid-19”
“I admonish you to always use nose mask when necessary and to also maintain good social distancing, he said.
“Once more, let me assure you that my administration as the Chairman of this Area CDC will continue to give security to lives and property, well-being and general prosperity of the people, the desired attention”, he reassured.
