Ogun Assembly Holds Stakeholders’ Forum On State Waste Management Authority Bill On Tuesday

Committed to using legislative instrument towards achieving a well-coordinated approach for waste management, collection and transportation through a disposal structure in line with the global best practices, the Ogun State House of Assembly will on Tuesday, 7th July, 2020, hold a Stakeholders’ forum on “H.B. No. 048/OG/2020- the Ogun State Waste Management Authority Law, 2020.

The bill with long title “A Bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority and other Matters connected therewith”, when operational will further assist in reducing environmental hazards and aid job creation.

The public hearing according to a release signed by the Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Services, ‘Deji Adeyemo is part of the Assembly’s culture of ensuring that all inputs from experts on environmental issues and allied sector(s) are harnessed in achieving an all-encompassing legislation.

The release indicated that the venue of the forum is the Assembly Complex, Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, at 2:00 pm prompt, while stating that only two representatives each from the invited organisations are expected to attend in consonance with COVID-19 protocol.
