It was a week-long festival in Abeokuta with the grand finale held yesterday at June 12 Cultural Center to celebrate Lisabi Agbogbo Akala, the progenitor of Egbaland, who liberated and also to showcase the rich culture of the ancient town with notable sons and daughters of Egbaland both home and in diaspora in attendance.
Meanwhile, a Journalist, Bunmi Adigun also played a major role as he became an Egba Traditional Warrior in the ancient town among others.
Bunmi Adigun, a widely travelled journalist, who works with Ogun State Television (OGTV) Abeokuta represented his Ijaiye community as Balogun Woro, and rode a spotless horse to the Egba cenotaph at Itoku, Abeokuta and later to paid homage to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo for blessings.
Adigun a journalist with sixteen years’ experience hails from Agbole Oladosu at Oke Idi Iroko which is his father’s homestead while from her mother, is from Agbole Anigbio both in Ijaye, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Balogun Woro attended, Community Primary School, Ijaye Abeokuta proceeded to Reverend Kuti Memorial Grammar School, Isabo Abeokuta, Muslim High School, Isolu, attended The Polytechnic Ibadan(Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus) Eruwa in Oyo State (ND), Moshood Abiola Polytechnic ( HND), And Crescent University Abeokuta(Bsc)
Adigun is also a pioneer Chairman, Progressives Youth Of Oke Odo (PROYE), Ijaye, Abeokuta, former Sports Editor Polyrays of the Mass Communication Department of The Polytechnic Ibadan, Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus, former Student Union Government, Sports Director, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,Ojere, Abeokuta, former Secretary of the Ogun State Television Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) and presently Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ogun State Council.
The 34th Lisabi Festival was attended by, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State Governor, Iba Gani Adams, Iyalode Alaba Lawson, Traditional Rulers and Chiefs among others.
