Zulum receives certificate of return; Says no luxury of time, work continues

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has received his Certificate of Return as the elected governor of the state for a second term.

The certificate was presented to him on Thursday in Maiduguri by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC’s National Commissioner in charge of Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States, Major General Madibbo Alkali (rtd), made the presentation on behalf of INEC Chairman, Professor Yakubu Mahmoud.

In his remarks, Governor Zulum said he will have no time to waste as he was continuing work.

He noted that his programmes and policies in second term will remain focused on security, health, education, agriculture and food security, job creation, youth and women empowerment, urban renewal, flood prevention, rehabilitation and resettlement.

“I want to assure the people of Borno State that insha Allah we will not relent in our efforts to reposition Borno State to greater heights. I will commit to making sure that insha’Allah, we will work 100% for the benefit of the citizens of Borno State.”

… Buhari is my greatest pillar, Zulum says

Meanwhile, Governor Babagana Umara Zulum expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for supporting him during his first term of office, describing him as his greatest pillar.

“Let me use this opportunity to commend the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, for his continued support to my administration. Our situation couldn’t have been like this without his support” Zulum said.

The governor also appreciates the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President-elect and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for supporting him.

Zulum also expressed appreciation to the state chapter of the APC led by Ali Bukar Dalori for its unflinching support in the last three and half years.

Aside Zulum, the 28 members-elect of the Borno State House of Assembly were also presented with their certificates of return.

INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Borno State, Ibrahim Magaji, presented them the certificates.
