The Yobe State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man, Yunusa Isa, in connection with the gruesome murder of his business partner and lender, Lawan Adamu, in Damaturu, Yobe State.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, it was disclosed that Isa was apprehended by the ‘A’ Divisional Police Headquarters for allegedly committing the crime on September 16, 2024, in the Shago Tara, Nayi Nawa Ward area.
Initially, Isa denied any involvement in the crime despite overwhelming circumstantial evidence. However, after intense interrogation by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department, the suspect later confessed to the killing.
The investigation revealed that the victim, Adamu, was not only Isa’s business partner but also his employer in their engine oil business. Further details surrounding the motive and method of the crime are still under investigation.
