According to a release issued by the Chairman, Iloko Development Association, Kayode Adedire and obtained by our Correspondent has it that the 2022 edition of Iloko Ijesa Day will hold on the 16th of April, 2022 at the Iloko Ijesa Town Hall by 10am Prompt.

“It is pertinent to allude to some notable occurrences within our dear Town in the past Ten years”.

“While this Committee took over the reign at the helm of affairs, the committee took her time in perusing the activities that had taken place in the past TEN (10) YEARS of our esteemed town having been without a monarch since the demised Oba Oladele Olashore CON joined his ancestors on the 1st day of June, 2012”.

“It is trite to note that ever since 2012, the fun filled annual Iloko-Ijesa Day celebration which holds every Easter period ceased abruptly”.

“Iloko-Ijesa Day celebration was not the only activity that felt the brunt of the long gap of bridge in leadership, other notable economic, social, cultural and political activities also stood still and it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf how this adversely affected our dear town”.

“However, as a sign of rebirth and rejuvenation, we gladly announce that ILOKO-IJESA DAY 2022 will hold on the 16TH DAY of APRIL, 2022 at the ILOKO-IJESA TOWN HALL by 10am Prompt”.

“It must be noted that the Iloko-Ijesa Day celebration scheduled for this year would be a low-key celebration as this is intended to serve as an awareness and reawakening process for subsequent celebrations”.

“While we aim at making this year event a low-keyed event wherein, we mend all broken fences within the town and also her illustrious sons and daughters both home and abroad and to kick start the beginning of a greater rebuilding process to bringing Iloko-Ijesa back to her rightful place on the world map, it must be noted that the cooperation of all and sundry is needed both physically and more importantly, FINANCIALLY”, he added.

“We passionately appeal to you by this means to kindly contribute generously but voluntarily towards the cause of this event so as to aid the good work of the Iloko Development Association in organizing an eventful celebration”, he concluded.
