Visa-on-Arrival Applications Still Functional – NIS

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has responded to concerns regarding visa-on-arrival applications following recent upgrades to payment platforms by Nigerian financial institutions.

Kemi Nandap, the Comptroller General of NIS, made this announcement in a statement issued by the service’s Public Relations Officer, Kenneth Udo, on Saturday in Abuja.

Mrs. Nandap assured the public that all NIS platforms are operational and encouraged applicants to utilize online applications from home. She advised that payments should be made using bank cards for smoother transactions.

“The attention of the service has been drawn to recent challenges faced by the public due to systems upgrade on payment platforms by Nigerian financial institutions,” she said. “The public is to note that all platforms of the service are functional. Consequently, we advise visa applicants to apply for Visa-on-Arrival (VOA) in the comfort of their homes and make payment online as provided on the portal using their bank cards for ease of transaction.”
