Violence Erupts in Kaduna as Protesters Attack KASTLEA Office

Kaduna, Nigeria – A protest in Kaduna turned violent on Thursday when demonstrators set fire to the headquarters of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA).

The protesters, who had been marching peacefully, attacked the KASTLEA office as they were returning from the Kaduna Government House via Sokoto Road.

Eyewitnesses report that hundreds of protesters looted property at the KASTLEA headquarters and nearby private residences.

The violence marks a turning point in the hunger protest, which had been peaceful until now.

The Overseeing Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr. Samuel Aruwan, has confirmed the incident.
