Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has joined Turkish Super League club Galatasaray on a season-long loan from Napoli, with a lucrative deal that will see him earn a net seasonal salary of €6 million.
This translates to a weekly wage of approximately €115,000 after tax during his one-year stint in Turkey.
Galatasaray announced the deal in an official statement, revealing that an agreement had been reached with Osimhen and Napoli for the temporary transfer of the player.
“The football player will be paid a net seasonal salary of 6,000,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season. It is respectfully announced to the public,” the statement read.
Osimhen expressed his excitement about the move, saying: “I’m thrilled to join Galatasaray and can’t wait to get started. The opportunity to play in Turkey and contribute to the team’s success is a great challenge, and I’m ready to give my best.”
The move brings an end to weeks of transfer speculation surrounding Osimhen, who was also linked to Chelsea and Saudi club Al Ahli.
Napoli will retain the option to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027 as part of the deal. Osimhen will wear jersey number 45 during his time in Turkey.
