Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray have reached an agreement with Italian Serie A side SS Napoli for the loan signing of striker Victor Osimhen.
The reigning league champions will sign the 25 year-old on a season-long loan without the option of making the deal permanent.
The Nigeria international will also sign a year-long contract extension with Napoli to help facilitate his move away from the club and will now have a new release clause of around €75m, which becomes active in the summer of 2025.
Osimhen’s relationship with Napoli had completely broken down at the end of the transfer window last weekend.
He had announced he would not play again for the club, with Napoli in turn deciding not to register the player while giving his number #9 shirt to new recruit Romelu Lukaku. This was after his transfer away from the club to either Chelsea FC or Al-Ahli Saudi FC collapsed.
The two teams had spent the majority of the transfer window vying to secure his signature. Al-Ahli reportedly had managed to reach an agreement with Osimhen but struggled to negotiate a contract with the striker, while Chelsea’s last offer for the striker fell short of his expectations.
