The new Olu of Wasinmi, Oba Sufianu Jolaosho has been charged to take advantage of the throne for the betterment of the people by embracing peace, unity and also attracting investors for the development of the community and Ewekoro.
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun gave the charge at the Installation and presentation of Staff of Office to the new monarch in Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the State.
Represented by the Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Prince Abiodun said the monarch should ensure that peace, unity, and cooperation from different quarters are established and sustained to move Wasimi Community forward.
He pointed out that the installation went through due process, commending the people of Wasimi for their unwavering and overwhelming support in achieving success.
According to him,’’ It is imperative to praise the good people of Wasimi that the choice of our new Oba, Oba Sufianu Jolaosho is one that followed due process. What you are witnessing today is, therefore, the last stage of a process, which complied strictly with the requirement of relevant sections of the Oba Chiefs Law of Ogun State 2021, and in accordance with the customs and tradition of the Wasimi community’’.
In his speech, the Chairman, Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Adesina, enjoined the Olu of Wasimi, Oba Jolaosho, to continue contributing immensely to the development of Wasimi and Ewekoro at large.
He appealed to the sons and daughters of Wasimi both at home and in the diaspora to rally around and give the necessary support to the new monarch to move the community to an enviable height, appreciating the Governor for his consistency and truthfulness in approving and assenting to the appointment of Olu of Wasimi.
In his acceptance speech, Oba Jolaosho, expressed profound gratitude to Prince Abiodun for his continuous respect for the institution of Oba and his approval of his selection as the new Olu of Wasimi, assuring his continued support and that of his subject in the developmental drive of the present administration in making Ogun State an enviable one among the comity of States.
