In a heartfelt concession speech delivered at Howard University on Wednesday evening, United States Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris formally acknowledged President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 election.
Addressing a gathering of supporters at her alma mater, Harris affirmed her commitment to a peaceful transfer of power.
“Earlier today, I spoke with President-elect Trump and congratulated him on his victory,” she shared. “I also told him that we will help him and his team with their transition and that we will engage in a peaceful transfer of power.”
Harris, who had aspired to secure the presidency, urged her supporters to come to terms with the election outcome, highlighting the need for acceptance and unity. “Folks are feeling and experiencing a range of emotions right now, I get it. But we must accept the results of this election,” she stated, encouraging her followers to move forward despite any disappointment.
