The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has praised Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, for his innovative strides, particularly in digital economy and innovation.
During a visit to the Governor’s Office, Dr. William Tsuma, UNDP’s Country Senior Innovation Adviser, expressed interest in promoting Ekiti’s innovation across Nigeria.
The partnership aims to leverage Ekiti’s expertise in agriculture, education, arts, and digital initiatives, including the newly launched Innovation Hub in Ado-Ekiti.
Governor Oyebanji highlighted the significance of the Ekiti Knowledge Zone in driving innovation and technology, focusing on employability and addressing curriculum deficiencies.
The state plans to replicate the Innovation Hub across all 16 local government areas, creating economic opportunities and making Ekiti an economic hub in Nigeria.
The partnership with UNDP will drive development through innovation, with youth at the center of this vision, according to Ekiti State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy, Mr. Seun Fakuade.
