Two Children Killed in Lone Accident on Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway

Abeokuta – A devastating lone accident involving a Toyota Camry occurred at Kere, Itori, on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, resulting in the loss of two young lives.

Florence Okpe, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.

“The accident happened at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, and it was caused by speeding. The car, marked AGL 36 JA, was also overloaded with passengers,” Ms. Okpe said.

The Toyota Camry carried seven men, one male child, and one female child. Tragically, one male child and one female child lost their lives in the accident, while the remaining passengers sustained various injuries.

“A total of seven men, one male child, and a female child were involved in the crash. One male child and one female child were killed in the accident, while others sustained different forms of injury in the crash,” Ms. Okpe explained.

The injured victims were rushed to the General Hospital in Ifo, and the corpses were deposited at the morgue.

The FRSC spokesperson urged motorists to always follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent such tragedies, saying, “We advise motorists to always adhere to traffic rules and regulations.”
