Two bills including the Ogun State Commercial Motorcycle/Tricycle Regulation Law, 2020 and State Judiciary Funds Management Law, 2020 have scaled through first reading on the floor of the hallowed Chamber of the State House of Assembly having being read for the first time by the Ag Clerk of the Assembly, Mr. Deji Adeyemo before the lawmakers.
The bills with long titles “H.B No. 033/OG/2020- A Bill for a Law to Empower Local Government Councils to Regulate and Manage the Operation and Union activities of Commercial Motorcycle/Tricycle in Ogun State and for other matters incidental thereto or connected therewith” and “H. B No 034/OG/2020- A Bill for a Law to Make Provision for the Ogun State Judiciary Funds Management and other Matters Connected Therewith, ” were read at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Olakunle Oluomo at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan.
In another development, Speaker Oluomo has cautioned the residents of the State on the need to ensure cleaner environment and maintain personal hygiene towards preventing the spread of lassa fever which had been confirmed in some States.
To achieve the above, people especially, parents and rural dwellers have been tasked on proper preservation of their foods away from rodents, who are major carriers of the virus, while ensuring regular hand washing, particularly before eating.
The Assembly also commiserated with the families of the former General Manager, State Broadcasting Corporation, Mr. Diji Akinhanmi and a Director of News and Current Affairs (Reportial), Wale Aderinale, who died during the Assembly’s recess with an observation of a minute silence in their honour, while acknowledging their meritorious service to the State-owned broadcast outfit.
