President Bola Tinubu has lauded Pastor Tunde Bakare, founder of Citadel Global Community Church, for his remarkable role in nation-building.
Recognizing Pastor Bakare’s dedication to fostering unity and progress in Nigeria, Tinubu highlighted Bakare’s enduring impact on both spiritual and civic spheres.
In a statement delivered at the 70th birthday thanksgiving held at CGCC, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos, Tinubu, represented by Secretary to the Federal Government (SGF) Sen. George Akume, described Pastor Bakare as a “man of integrity and hope.” Tinubu remarked, “Pastor Bakare is a beacon for the hopeless and has selflessly dedicated his life to God and humanity.”
Acknowledging current hardships in the nation, Tinubu assured that his administration is actively seeking solutions to the country’s challenges. “Drastic measures are underway to address these complex issues,” he added.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, also paid tribute, calling Pastor Bakare “a distinguished ambassador” of Ogun State who has been instrumental in advancing national development. “Pastor Bakare is a trailblazer, not only in Ogun but across Nigeria and beyond,” Abiodun affirmed.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, praised Bakare’s dedication to truth, calling him “a special vessel of God.” According to Sanwo-Olu, “Pastor Bakare is steadfast in his commitment to truth and righteousness, exemplifying a life of purpose and divine calling.”
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Sarah Omakwu of Family Worship Centre highlighted Bakare’s life of service, noting his contributions to church leadership both within and outside Nigeria. “He has touched countless lives through his mentorship and compassion for widows and orphans,” she observed.
In his response, Pastor Bakare credited his success to guidance received early in life and reiterated his desire for a prosperous Nigeria, calling on citizens to contribute to national growth.
The event gathered eminent personalities, including former governors, legislators, traditional rulers, industry leaders, and friends. The occasion also featured the launch of Bakare’s autobiography, The Last. Definitely Not The Least, capturing his life journey and legacy.
