Troops from Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully thwarted an attempted attack by Boko Haram terrorists on the Sabon Fegi community in Buni Yadi, Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.

According to intelligence sources cited by counter-insurgency and security expert Zagazola Makama, the attack occurred at around 11 a.m. and led to an intense gun battle that resulted in the deaths of four terrorists. Among those neutralized was Abu Shekau, a notorious Boko Haram commander.

“Shekau was a staunch loyalist of the late Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and a significant figure within the group. His father had named him after the infamous leader as a mark of reverence,” sources revealed.

The troops reportedly deployed superior firepower, forcing the remaining insurgents to flee and ensuring the safety of the community. Several weapons were recovered from the terrorists during the operation, marking a decisive victory for the security forces.
