Manchester United have begun talks to sign Fluminense striker, Pedro, according to Globoesporte.

The 21-year-old was close to signing for Real Madrid last year but a cruciate ligament injury, which kept him sidelined for seven months, ended any possibility of a transfer.

United have maintained their interest for a long time and are now ready to make the move.

The player is valued at around €25million (£22m).

Pedro made his senior debut for Fluminense three years ago and has scored 17 goals in 50 appearances for the Brazilian club.

He was given his first call-up to Brazil’s national team last August but was forced to pull out due to his knee injury.
