The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a 50-year-old man, identified only as Emmanuel, who was tragically killed by a moving train on Tuesday in the Oshodi area of Lagos.

The incident occurred near the Arena Shopping Complex at about 9 a.m.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, informed journalists on Sunday that Emmanuel’s death was reported by his younger sister, who received a distressing phone call about the accident.

“The woman reported that she got a phone call that her elder brother was allegedly crushed by a moving train while walking along the track,” Hundeyin explained.

Following the report, police detectives immediately responded, visiting the scene to gather evidence and take photographs. The body was then evacuated and taken to a public morgue for an autopsy.

SP Hundeyin further stated that the case has now been transferred to the Railway Police Command at Ebute-Metta for further investigation.
