The Arewa Traders Association of Nigeria (ATAN) has committed to collaborating with its members in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to stabilize the prices of essential food items throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
Alhaji Habib Muhammad-Gajo, the newly appointed FCT Chairman, expressed this commitment during his acceptance speech in Abuja, emphasizing the association’s determination to work with the FCT Administration and the Federal Government to address food hoarding and ensure price stability in the capital and across the nation.
Dr Abdulaziz Bature, the National Chairman of the association’s Board of Trustees, urged members to provide strong leadership in tackling the economic challenges facing the country.
The National President, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad, called for an inclusive administration from the newly appointed leaders, expressing confidence in their ability to bring progress to the people of the FCT during their six-month tenure.
Other officials appointed include Dalhatu Usman-Garo as Secretary, Ayuba Maluri as Treasurer, Shuaibu Abdullahi as Financial Secretary, and Abdullahi Adamu as the Public Relations Officer of the association.
