Tow Truck Deployed as BRT Bus Crashes into Median at Oshodi, Lagos

A Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus was involved in a lone accident early Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Bolade, Oshodi area of Lagos State.

The incident occurred when the bus collided with the median that separates the service lane from the main carriageway.

According to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident briefly disrupted traffic in the area, though it did not cause significant delays.

“A lone accident involving a BRT bus has occurred at Boladale, Oshodi. The said vehicle rammed into the median dividing the service lane and the main carriageway,” LASTMA stated via their X handle, formerly known as Twitter.

Officials reported that a tow truck had been dispatched to the scene to remove the vehicle, and traffic officers were on the ground to manage the situation and maintain smooth traffic flow.

The message further confirmed: “Though traffic is not significantly impeded at this hour, the tow truck operator has now been contacted for evacuation purposes. Our officers are present around the situation to ensure ease of accessibility.”

No casualties were reported, and LASTMA assured the public that efforts were ongoing to resolve the situation swiftly.
