Top Oyo Monarch, Aseyin of Iseyin Has Passed

The Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen, has passed away.

According to a source at the University College Hospital Ibadan, the monarch’s death occurred on Sunday.

Oba Salawudeen is the fourth senior traditional ruler in Oyo State that have joined their ancestors in the last eight months.

While his remains are being parked for onward journey to his town, a less than one hour journey from the state capital, traditionalists have begun passage rites around the ancient town.

The palace will officially break the story later this evening. Oba Salawudeen was a trained veterinary doctor, and ascended the throne in 2007.
